A datatip can't be displayed only on-the-fly, as tooltips are. This feature would be a great improvement
Reported by Samuel GOUGEON (@sgougeon)
BUG DESCRIPTION:
----------------
It is presently possible to set a datatip visible or masked, but this can't be done interactively.
Proposing to the user some information in datatips is nice, but this is often not handy if the info remains always displayed.
Displaying a datatip only when the area of its node is overflown -- as for tooltips -- would be much easier to use them.
A new property on_the_fly = <radius or [width, height] of the triggering area centered on the node> could be defined and used (instead of adding possible values to the .visible existing property)
.on_the_fly = 0 | [0,0] would disable the feature.
.visible = "on" would be required to enable the feature.
In case of overlaying triggering areas of neighbors, the closest node would be chosen.
Thanks
