Implement a loadmatfile -octave option to load data files in Octave's default text format
Reported by Samuel GOUGEON (@sgougeon)
BUG DESCRIPTION:
----------------
It is presently very hard to actually use loadmatfile in ascii mode.
It very often yields an error, even with simple files.
* Octave outputs some headers starting with #, not %, yielding an error with loadmatfile at the very first line.
* For a sparse matrix, the chunk's header holds some information about the size and data type of the sparse.
loadmatfile --ascii ignores it. Actually, it ignores all data headers.
* Files containing several variables can't be loaded.
* The basename of the file is used to set the name of the loaded variable backwarded in the calling level...
instead of the names provided in chunks headers.
This -ascii mode is not really implemented. Yet, when the binary mode is KO or bugged (see the pending list of bugs...), the ascii mode could be very useful.
loadmatfile -ascii should be overhauled and refactored.
